This concept began with planning routes of circulation and general zones in which different spaces would be delegated. The hotel required the following programming: vertical circulation to allow for access from both the street and the Highline, restrooms, an office for the manager, reception, a café with seating, and general lounge seating.
Following our decisions regarding general placement of spaces, my partner and I developed our final floorplan, incorporating not only the required programmatic spaces but also adding an art gallery and speakeasy lounge to contribute to the concept of a trendy, modern, youthful hotel. Then, we chose sections which revealed important aspects of the design, such as the added greenery divider by the café seating and the bar area of the speakeasy lounge.
